The North Carolina Supreme Court improperly disregarded US Supreme Court precedent when it upheld a $3.24 million sales tax bill on transactions that occurred entirely out of state, a Wisconsin printer told the high court.
The North Carolina Supreme Court ruled 6-1 in December that Quad Graphics Inc. had a sales tax duty on nearly three years of transactions involving materials it printed and delivered to a common carrier out of state that were destined for North Carolina recipients.
