Kansas Governor Announces Launch of Governor’s Council on Tax Reform

The Kansas Governor Sept. 9 announced the launch of the Governor’s Council on Tax Reform through the Executive Order 19-11. The council will conduct an 18-month, in-depth study, and make specific statutory recommendations to state lawmakers. The governor recommended a return to the “three-legged stool” approach that relies on a sensible balance of individual income, corporate income, trust income, sales and use, and property tax revenue. The order contains information on: 1) functions of the council; 2) first meeting and consecutive meeting dates of the council; 3) an interim and a final report; and 4) the list of council membership....
