Kroger Rebounds After Winning Data Center Tax Exemption in Ohio

Kroger erased an early loss Monday after the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 75%, 15-year data center sales tax exemption for technology equipment purchased for the supermarket chain’s two Greater Cincinnati data centers and a supporting technology facility.

  • Kroger had fallen as much as 1.7% Monday and rallied to gain as much as 0.7%
  • Companies must invest at least $100 million in capital investments at the project site over three consecutive years and pay annual compensation of $1.5 million to qualify for the tax exemption, Kroger said
