Michigan Lawmakers Urge $300M Revival of Tax Incentive Program

A bipartisan team of Michigan lawmakers introduced bills Wednesday that would revive a defunct state tax incentive program after the state lost out on Ford Motor Co. electric vehicle plants.

The bills (H.B. 5425 and H.B. 5426) would provide up to 100% of employees’ state income tax withholding for 10 years, committing $300 million to a system that expired in 201`9.
