The Minnesota Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 1 issued a revised individual income tax fact sheet explaining what income is subject to state tax for nonresident taxpayers. The fact sheet includes information on: 1) filing requirements; 2) filing statuses; 3) reciprocity; and 4) estimated tax payments. The DOR explained that nonresidents may qualify for Minnesota credits, but generally only Minnesota residents qualify for credits from taxes paid to another state, the working family credit, or the homestead credit refund and the renter’s property tax refund.
