The solar energy industry is carved out of a California commercial property tax increase that is up for voter approval in November, under a bill signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The Democratic governor signed S.B. 364 by Sen. Holly Mitchell (D) late Wednesday to fix a mistake in the ballot measure, Proposition 15, that would inadvertently end an existing property tax exclusion for newly constructed solar systems.
