Wisconsin-based printer Quad Graphics Inc. is back on the hook for a $3 million sales tax assessment to North Carolina after the state high court held the tax wasn’t applied unconstitutionally.
The North Carolina Supreme Court, in a 6-1 ruling issued Friday, adopted the Department of Revenue’s view that Quad Graphics had a sales tax duty on nearly three years of transactions involving printed materials shipped into the state by common carrier.
