Ohio Tax Code Conformity Bill Clears Unanimous Senate

Ohio state coffers are expected to be up to $13 million lighter under a Senate package responding to the new coronavirus, which includes measures to conform the state’s tax regime to the federal Internal Revenue Code.

The Ohio Senate passed House Bill 197 unanimously on Wednesday, sending the bill for likely concurrence in the House on Wednesday afternoon. The bill also would delay Ohio’s income tax filing deadlines from April 15 to July 15, and provide many other regulatory changes Gov. Mike DeWine (R) has called for to help combat the Covid-19 outbreak.
