‘Pink Tax’ Exemption Wins Approval From Louisiana Lawmakers

Diapers and menstrual products would be exempt from Louisiana sales and use taxes under legislation heading to Gov. John Bel Edwards’ (D) desk on Thursday.

The “pink tax” exemption would take effect July 1, 2022, if the bill (H.B. 7) is signed into law. It would cost to state roughly $11 million a year in revenue, according to a legislative fiscal analysis. ...
