San Francisco restaurant and entertainment businesses, with profits destroyed by the coronavirus-prompted shutdown orders, would get registration fees waived and payroll taxes for 2020 forgiven under a new ordinance sent to the mayor.
The ordinance covers entertainment businesses with less than $20 million in San Francisco gross receipts and restaurants with no more than $750,000 in gross receipts. The Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday 11-0 to approve the measure and forward it to Mayor London Breed, who three times has extended the filing deadline since the stay-at-home public health orders were issued last March.
