CBS Studios Inc.'s “Star Trek Picard” and Netflix’s space travel series “Away” will be getting California tax credits for filming in the state.
Each fiscal year, California awards hundreds of millions in funding for TV and film projects. The state offers a 20 percent tax credit for new TV series filming in the state and a 25 percent tax credit for relocating television shows.
“Why Women Kill, a CBS Studios production from Marc Cherry, the creator of “Desperate Housewives,” has also been selected for the credits, the California Film Commission announced Dec. 10.
