State of Wayfair: Ohio Getting Rid of Cookies?

Ohio wants to join the sales tax revolution.

The state’s GOP-dominated House and Senate have competing views on tax policies, but in general they want to lower taxes. That is, for pretty much everyone other than out-of-state sellers.

The Ohio Senate’s version of the state operating budget bill, introduced June 11, would require remote vendors to collect and remit the state’s 5.75% sales tax when they exceed thresholds of $100,000 in annual sales or more than 200 transactions sourced to buyers in the state.
