Teenage Vaping Legislative Fray Draws In Major Education Groups

Fourteen national education groups have joined the congressional fight over a bill to reduce teen vaping.

The American Federation of Teachers, the School Superintendent Association, National School Boards Association, and other groups urged House lawmakers in a letter Monday to pass a bill (H.R. 2339) that would ban some vaping and tobacco flavors, including menthol.

“Schools are struggling to address this crisis and are dedicating significant resources towards prevention and education about the harms of nicotine use, technology to prevent use of the products in school and resources to assist students in quitting,” the letter said.
