Telecommuters Trigger Tax Liability in Most States, Survey Shows

Businesses with employees telecommuting from other states due to the coronavirus pandemic will be on the hook for taxes in most of those places, according to a Bloomberg Tax & Accounting survey.

The survey, released Monday, comes on the heels of the stay-at-home orders that have forced millions of Americans to work remotely since March, in many cases in a different state than that where their company is physically located and traditionally pays taxes on employee pay.
