Wisconsin Auditor Points to Flaws in Foxconn Tax Incentive Deal

Gaps in Wisconsin’s administration of a $2.85 billion tax incentive package aimed at Foxconn Technology Group came under fire from a state auditor, who found the 2017 deal allows tax credits to be awarded for work performed outside the state.

State auditor Joe Chrisman Dec. 17 faulted the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation for failing to adjust its contracts with Foxconn and its written procedures to prevent any awards of job-creation tax credits for services not performed in Wisconsin.
