Australia’s Frydenberg Says to Expand Tax Treaty Network

The government will expand the network to support the economic recovery and ensure Australian businesses are well placed to take advantage of the opportunities that will emerge in the coming years, according to an emailed statement.

  • The plan allows Australia to enter into 10 new and updated tax treaties by 2023, building on our existing network of 45 bilateral pacts; The network will cover 80% of foreign investment in Australia and about A$6.3t of two-way trade and investment
