BGOV Bill Summary: H.R. 6119, Stopgap Funding and Refugee Aid

Government funding would be extended through Feb. 18, 2022, by H.R. 6119, which also would provide billions for the resettlement of Afghan refugees.

The continuing resolution, or CR, would generally extend fiscal 2021 funding levels and avert a government shutdown that would otherwise begin Dec. 4.

It includes some “anomalies” that would adjust those amounts, including providing an additional $1.6 billion to support services for unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S.-Mexico border who have been transferred to the Health and Human Services Department.
