The US Chamber of Commerce called on a federal appeals court to intervene in its challenge to Maryland’s “punitive” digital advertising tax and order a district court to evaluate the legal merits of its constitutional objections.
The chamber and a group of technology trade associations filed a brief late Tuesday, calling for the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to reverse and remand two earlier district court rulings dealing with their challenge to Maryland’s first-in-the-nation Digital Advertising Gross Revenues Tax.
