Challenge to California Donor Disclosure Law Unfounded, AG Says

A nonprofit backed by Charles Koch challenging a California donor-disclosure law hasn’t demonstrated that the law would have a chilling effect on freedom of speech nationwide, the state of California said in a filing to the U.S. Supreme Court.

California’s Office of Attorney General filed a brief arguing that the Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity Foundation is wrong in its contention that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit applied the wrong level of scrutiny when evaluating the group’s challenge.
