Colorado Gov. Jared Polis wants to ask voters to tax nicotine vaping the same as cigarettes and increase taxes on other tobacco products.
The Democratic governor April 24 lent his support to a bill in the 2019 session of Colorado General Assembly that aims to keep tobacco products out of the hands of kids while boosting revenue for schools, tobacco prevention and cessation programs, and programs to reduce health care costs. Colorado has the highest rate of teen vaping in the country, he said.
