Denmark Tax Ministry Proposes Tax Measures for Green Tax Reform

The Danish Ministry of Taxation Nov. 23 proposed tax measures for green tax reform. The proposal includes measures that would: 1) increase the energy tax for all businesses by 6 Danish kroner (US$0.97) per gigajoule, resulting in an increase for general businesses to 10.5 kroner (US$1.69) per gigajoule, and increase the tax to 6 kroner per gigajoule for the mineralogical industry, which is currently exempt; 2) increase the immediate, full depreciation threshold to 30,000 kroner (US$4,835) from 14,100 kroner (US$2,273) for green technology investments; and 3) increase the depreciation limit on green technology investments by 16 percent until Dec. 31, ...
