EU Finance Ministers May Delay Decision on Hungary Funding (1)

European Union member states may push back a final decision on billions of euros of funding for Hungary after the bloc’s executive arm recommended delaying payments until Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government allays concerns over graft and the erosion of the rule of law.

“We need a bit more time to study the European Commission’s conclusions,” French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said in Brussels on Monday. “We’ll take a position in the coming days. There are some things that are heading in the right direction, others that still have to be looked at closely.”
