EU Ministers Approve Norwegian, Polish, Finnish VAT Rules

European Union finance ministers on Friday approved a plan for the bloc to work more closely with Norway to combat value-added tax fraud, and waved through exemptions from EU VAT rules for Finland and Poland.

On Norway, the ministers said the European Commission, the EU’s executive, could go ahead with a scheme to reinforce a 2018 cooperation agreement through joint audits and more information sharing. The commission proposed the update to the agreement in April.
