Kansas City Chiefs Don’t Need to Pay Nearly $1 Million in Taxes

The Kansas City Chiefs don’t owe taxes on items bought for stadium renovations because they didn’t purchase them, the Supreme Court of Missouri has ruled.

The Kansas City Chiefs Football Club Inc. was appealing a 2019 ruling by the state Administrative Hearing Commission that found the team liable for about $930,000 in sales and use taxes, plus interest, on various purchases related to renovations of the team’s home-game venue, Arrowhead Stadium.
