A novel Kentucky measure to provide $15,000 or more in tax incentives for new remote workers died Friday by Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto.
The bill, H.B. 372, would have given full-time remote workers a state income tax break starting at $5,000 a year—decreasing by $1,000 annually—if they relocated to Kentucky in 2021 and worked for an out-of-state company. The bill would also have provided additional income tax breaks for first-time homebuyers, up to the annual real estate tax amount.
