Michigan Governor Urges Tax Incentives, Health-Care Worker Bonus

Michigan can better bounce back from the Covid-19 pandemic by renewing a $500 million tax-incentive program and by providing permanent pay bumps to overworked state health-care employees, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Wednesday in her State of the State address.

The state should revive the “Good Jobs for Michigan” incentive package that helped convince Pfizer to develop its Covid-19 vaccine production center in Portage, Mich., and Fiat Chrysler America to increase production in the state, Whitmer (D) said.
