New York Pizzeria, Pub Owners Pay $479,000 in Tax Evasion Plea

Owners of several upstate New York restaurants and bars pleaded guilty to underreporting $4 million in taxable sales over five years.

An investigation by the state Office of Attorney General and the Department of Taxation found that business owners George Seibel, of Homer, and Anthony Caruso, of Cortland, failed to remit $479,000 in sales tax from six restaurants and bars between 2010 and 2015. They agreed to pay in full.
