The U.S. Tax Court’s new case management system—which will allow for filing petitions electronically—may be ready to go online by the spring, said Tax Court Judge L. Paige Marvel at the American Bar Association tax section meeting in San Francisco on Oct. 4.
- Rules permitting electronic filing of petitions aren’t currently in place because there isn’t a system to enable expanding e-filing to include petitions, she said. But the rules are ready to go for when the system is ready, she said.
- The Tax Court began permitting electronic filing of stipulated decisions reflecting settlements between parties on Sept. 30.
