Software Mogul Brockman’s Tax Trial Moved by Judge to Texas

A federal judge agreed to move Robert T. Brockman’s tax-fraud case from San Francisco to near his home in Houston, according to a ruling released on Monday.

The decision immediately transfers the entire 39-count case against Brockman, who is charged with tax evasion, money laundering and other crimes as part of a scheme to hide roughly $2 billion in capital gains abroad. In his ruling, U.S. District Judge William Alsup denied Brockman’s request to dismiss part of the case for lack of venue.
