South Carolina Increases Heated Cigarette Tax

The South Carolina Legislature amended Section 12-21-620 of the state tax code, increasing the tobacco tax rate on heated cigarettes to 21.375 from 14.25 mills per cigarette. The law takes effect on Oct. 1. [H.B. 4303, enacted 05/19/26]
