Tax Court Judge Open to Post-Pandemic Remote Proceedings

The U.S. Tax Court may consider allowing remote proceedings in some cases even after pandemic safety protocols are no longer needed, according to Tax Court Judge Ronald Buch.

Buch, during a Thursday virtual luncheon hosted by the State Bar of Michigan’s Taxation Section, was asked whether the court’s current remote sessions are a temporary fix during the pandemic or if the court could continue to use Zoom for trials once social distancing is no longer needed.
