President Donald Trump July 1 signed a bill to retool parts of the IRS while setting up the agency for more change in the future.
The new law, which makes tweaks to the Internal Revenue Service that lawmakers have sought for years, represents a bipartisan achievement for the two tax-writing committees in Congress. The bill passed the House and the Senate by voice vote the week of June 10.
