Veteran IRS Attorney Tapped for New Fraud Enforcement Program

The IRS named veteran attorney Carolyn Schenck the national fraud counsel for a new agency program to crack down on tax fraud.

Schenck, currently the assistant division counsel (international) in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel’s Small Business/Self Employed Division, has focused much of her career on offshore tax compliance and ensuring taxpayers are disclosing their foreign bank accounts. She has been counsel to the Offshore Compliance Initiative for more than 10 years, the IRS said Tuesday in a news release.
