Virginia Could Absorb NYC Amazon Jobs Without More Incentives

Virginia wouldn’t have to offer more incentives to Amazon in order to gain the 25,000 jobs originally intended for New York City, according to some state and local tax professionals.

Amazon announced Feb. 14 it would cancel plans to build half of its second headquarters in New York City after a local and national backlash. Amazon said it would proceed with plans in Arlington, Va.—the other half of the HQ2 equation—and a smaller site in Nashville.
