Tesla Sheds Suit Blaming Car’s Crash on Spontaneous Acceleration

Tesla Inc. exited a family’s suit alleging their Model X vehicle accelerated unexpectedly and crashed into a restaurant, as a federal court said the evidence indicates the driver hit the gas, not the brake pedal.

Hacene Djemil and his family sued in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington, alleging they were hurt when their 2018 Model X collided with the wall of a Subway restaurant at a retail complex in February 2020.
