NV Energy Transmission Projects Advance in Government Review

Federal regulators have advanced the US government review of NV Energy Inc.’s planned Greenlink power transmission project, setting the stage for possible approval late next year.

  • The Bureau of Land Management released a draft environmental impact statement on the 450-mile Greenlink West project connecting Las Vegas to Reno, and announced plans to begin a similar review of the 232-mile Greenlink North project
  • BLM said in news release it aims to reach a final decision on Greenlink West by late 2024
  • The 525 kV lines are expected to connect more renewable power in Nevada to the grid
