The Energy Department has allocated $750 million for research, development, and demonstration efforts aimed at reducing the cost of clean hydrogen, according to a Wednesday news release.

The funded projects, which will be managed by the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Office, will focus on underlying technical barriers to cost reduction as well as ensuring the long-term viability of current emerging commercial-scale deployments, the department said.

The concept paper phase of the application process is due April 19, and full applications are due July 19, according to the department.
