Federal agencies lack a consistent plan for contractors in the case of a US debt default and aren’t engaging with industry partners about their concerns, David Berteau, president of Professional Services Council, said at a media roundtable Thursday.
PSC is concerned that the government doesn’t have a mechanism to prioritize payments on existing obligations. “This is sort of the opposite of what you do in a government shutdown, where you decide what’s essential and what’s not essential,” he said.
