The top senator for aviation and the head of the Transportation Department agree: the airline industry’s many crises shouldn’t go to waste.
“The American consumer has had a rough flying experience over the past few years,” Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), chair of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, said at a hearing Thursday. “In this year’s FAA reauthorization, I hope we can work together on a new passenger bill of rights that gets a better deal for the US consumer.”
