Ex-Deloitte Partner Found Guilty in Steinhoff Audit, News24 Says

A Dutch disciplinary court found former Deloitte LLP partner Patrick Seinstra guilty of charges related to an audit of Steinhoff International Holdings NV and suspended his registration as an accountant for three months, News24 reported.

The Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets charged Seinstra with offenses including that he failed to properly evaluate the sale of intangible assets by Steinhoff, the Johannesburg-based news website said Friday. The guilty ruling was delivered earlier this month, it said.

Deloitte expressed disappointment with the ruling, saying it failed to take into account the very complex audit, News24 said.
