KPMG Gets $10 Million Bias Deal With Female Executives Approved

KPMG LLP and about 450 women got a Manhattan federal judge’s approval of a $10 million settlement to resolve claims that the company paid lower salaries to female executives because of their gender.

Female KPMG employees alleged their pay was cut while they were on maternity leave, and that the company’s culture discouraged mothers from working full-time.

The company agreed to settle all of the claims, resulting in about $14,000 for each claimant, according to an opinion approving the deal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
