Small Firms Win Big Audits as U.K. Tries to Break Big Four Power

Smaller firms have grabbed some big U.K. audits, but the market remains heavily dominated by the Big Four, a report showed Monday.

In the three months to Nov. 11, two firms from outside of the Big Four entered the rankings for the first time in several years, according to the report from Adviser Rankings Ltd. Grant Thornton LLP became the first second-tier firm to audit a FTSE-100 company for two years, while Mazars LLP won its first FTSE-250 client, it said.
