The U.S. audit regulator is watching closely to see whether a White House budget proposal that would fold its work into the SEC will gain traction on Capitol Hill.
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has no control over the legislative process, and is focused on its mission in the meantime, Chairman Will Duhnke said Tuesday at a Council of Institutional Investors conference in Washington.
