U.S. Audit Regulator, Deloitte Gear Up for Blockchain Arrival

The U.S. audit regulator is keeping a sharp eye on the rapid development of blockchain technology while firms experiment with the tool’s potential to provide more targeted, faster audits.

Public Company Accounting Oversight Board member Kathleen Hamm said that the audit overseer has formed a working group with audit firms to better understand how the distributed ledger systems, as well as other new technologies, could alter the work of auditors.
