Canadian Solar, Hanwha Patent Case at ITC to Be Probed

The International Trade Commission said it will investigate a patent-infringement complaint that seeks to block imports of solar panels by Canadian Solar, Hanwha Q Cells and Boviet Solar made in Asia.

  • Advanced Silicon Group Technologies, a maker of photovoltaic biosensors, claims the companies are using its patented inventions for photovoltaic cells with nanostructures and nanowires
    • ASGT contends its six patents related to nanostructures, extremely small protrusions that enhance the absorption of light and thus increase the amount of electricity produced
