Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line), Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K-Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Nissan Motor Car Carrier Co. (NMCC) “indulged in cartelization” in provision of maritime motor vehicle transport services to automobile original equipment manufacturers for various trade routes, Competition Commission of India says in an order.
- Regulator allowed reduction in penalty by 100% to NYK Line, 50% to MOL and 30% to NMCC
- K-Line will have to pay 242.3 million rupees ($3.2 million), MOL will pay 101.2 million rupees and NMCC will need to pay 286.9 million rupees
