Roku Gets Mixed News in Universal Electronics Spat At ITC

A U.S. International Trade Commission judge found that some Roku remotes infringe a patent owned by Universal Electronics, while claims of two other patents are invalid, according to a notice posted on the agency’s electronic docket.

• Roku Ultra and Soundbar remotes infringe a patent for ways to control devices that use WiFi, HDMI and Bluetooth; revised versions of Ultra and Soundbar do not, ITC Judge Cameron Elliot said in the notice
