House appropriators were supposed to face off about agriculture and nutrition spending this week, with a markup planned for the GOP’s party-line budget proposal.
Thanks to debt ceiling negotiations, that fight will have to wait. House Appropriations Chairwoman Kay Granger (R-Texas) delayed this week’s committee markups late Monday night “in order to give the Speaker maximum flexibility as talks continue.”
Ranking member Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) sounded off on the decision to delay agriculture and other markups.
