Vietnam Eyeing Chinese Goods Attempting to Avoid U.S. Tariffs

Vietnam is closely watching 25 exports ranging from electronics to shoes as part of a campaign to convince the U.S. it is not letting Chinese products sneak through the country to dodge tariffs in the ongoing trade war.

Vietnam is cracking down on “trade fraud,” Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh told Parliament during a two-day session that ended Nov. 7. The communist country is inspecting shipments for signs that traders are importing goods, slapping “Made-in-Vietnam” stickers on them, and then re-exporting them to places like the U.S.
