After finding allegedly discriminatory loans that Wells Fargo issued within the limitations period of the Fair Housing Act, several Atlanta-area counties can move forward with their lawsuit for injunctive relief.
Fulton, Cobb, and DeKalb counties alleged that Wells Fargo gave minority mortgage holders predatory loans that resulted in higher rates of foreclosure in minority neighborhoods compared to non-minority ones. The case had initially been thrown out because the counties failed to give details about the addresses and borrowers associated with the loans.
